The lovely people at Condor Airlines obviously made a judgement call that it wasn’t sufficient to give young Adam just a cheap price. “No no no” said Big Chief Condor*. “We haven’t given him enough… let’s throw in another stopover!”
So with a logic only comprehensible in airline circles he declared that our hero would take a little side trip to Dominican Republic… (Odysseus springing to mind yet?). Drunk on generosity he also threw in a few extra hours in Germany… jolly good egg!
It would appear that some higher being eventually slapped him in his sensory region though as, purely to show there was no favouritism, he savagely robbed Fray of a few Panamanian hours… Boo sir! Boo!
