Paraguay

I have SO MUCH love for Paraguay.

I first visited 5 years ago and had a wild time, and then with each subsequent visit I’ve fallen deeper in love with the country.

While all travel changes you, Paraguay has certainly changed my travel style.

Travelling to a country with the express goal of documenting the entire experience, covering all aspects of the country and sharing it with the world changes how you approach things.

I’ve had so much fun travelling to all corners of Paraguay, speaking with the amazing people all over and having incredible experiences.

Paraguayan people are so much fun. Honest, open, warm and friendly… lovely, lovely people.

And for those wondering if Paraguay is worth visiting, it absolutely is. Hundreds of waterfalls scattered all around, incredible wildlife up in the Chaco, tons of history and unique cultural events and lots of opportunities for adventure and excitement.

If you’re a lover of languages then I’d highly recommend trying to learn Guarani… it’s a beautiful natural language spoken all over the country. It’s a second official language in Paraguay but when you travel to the more remote areas it’s the majority language.

One key bit of advice I’d give anyone visiting Paraguay is to get out of the capital, Asuncion. While it has some great things to see and do, the real magic of Paraguay lies elsewhere.

Go camping under waterfalls, kayaking amongst flamingos or fishing for piranha. You can have so much fun here. Plus it’s still mostly undiscovered by mainstream tourism so you won’t have to fight through hordes of Instagrammers
